Congratulations to Milo Bak, Stephanie Beley, Lilly Martin, Jessica Ross, and Claira Smith for collectively earning $994,000 in tuition scholarships through the 2024 Illinois High School Art Exhibition hosted by Art ConnectED. Milo, Stephanie, Lilly, and Jessica's work will be on display at the IHSAE main event on Sunday April 21st at the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago. Cassidy Berchtold, Thea Colwell, Aurelia Carraro, Gabriella Gazdowicz, Angel Overlin, and Alexandra Ritter will also have their art on display. This event brings the best student artists from 100 Illinois, suburban, public, and private schools to compete and celebrate the power of art in their lives. We are incredibly proud of these students' hard work!

Congratulations to the Jazz Ensemble for winning Class 2A for the second year in a row at Jazz in the Meadows held at Rolling Meadows HS over the weekend. This gave them the opportunity to perform at Finals where they increased their score by 10 points and placed 2nd overall!

SAVE THE DATE! Lakes Eagles Booster Club (LEBC) Bid It To Win It! This year, Lakes Eagles Booster Club will be hosting its annual 'Bid it to Win It' fundraiser. The Online Auction will take place from Friday, April 12th to Tuesday, April 16th and will feature awesome items and one-of-a-kind experiences, which you can view and bid on from the comfort of your home with your computer or your cell phone. This is a great way for our families and community to support Lakes High School students and staff, including LCHS clubs, sports, and activities. We are seeking donations from the local community. If you have a business that would be interested in making a donation (gift card, product and/or service), please contact Tracy Behnke at tracybehnke@hotmail.com. Lakes Eagles Booster Club (LEBC) is a parent volunteer group that raises funds in order to enhance the academic, extracurricular, and staff experiences at Lakes. Because of your generous support last academic year with LEBC fundraisers, including Bid It To Win It!, LEBC was able to fund two grant cycles and scholarships totaling more than $70,000! LEBC has provided more than $500,000 in grants to LCHS to date to support all LCHS students & staff.

Due to untreated ice on side streets, we will follow a late start schedule at ACHS & LCHS today January 23, 2024, starting at 9:20 am. There will be no zero hour P.E. Busses will follow their normal late start schedule pick up times.

Due to the extreme cold forecasted by the National Weather Service for January 16, D117 will be conducting an E-Learning day to ensure our students are safe from possibly hazardous conditions. All students should stay at home and participate in E-Learning using their Chromebook starting with their first-period class tomorrow at 9:20 AM.

Due to the widespread nature of power outages January 12, we are cancelling E-Learning today and using an Emergency Day / Snow Day. This school day will be made up later in the year. Details on the make-up day will be communicated through Infinite Campus and other district communication channels.
