Two hockey teams with trophies and banners

District 117 Students on Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) Championship Teams!

Share with us in congratulating the District 117 students who were part of the 2026 Wisconsin State Tournament 18U Championship and Consolation Championship hockey teams last week!

Several of our D117 students competed in the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) 18U State Tournament and came home as State Champions! Our students play competitive travel hockey for the Kenosha Komets and competed March 13-15 at the Kenosha Ice Arena.  

The Komets 18U Major team took home the WAHA 18U State Tournament Champions banner with a 11-1 win over Vernona Southwest Eagles, 11-1 win over Hudson, and final 7-1 win over Marinette/Menominee. D117 students include Jackson Koesser and Mikhail “Misha” Porstner.  

The Komets 18U Minor team took home the WAHA 18U State Tournament Consolation Champions banner with an 8-5 loss to Dodgeville, 5-2 win over River Cities, and a final 2-1 win over Green Bay. D117 students include Quintin Anderson, Cash Blau, Troy Maslon, Brady Mccormick, Luke Torkilsen, and Lukas “Otto” Young.
