Homecoming Assembly award presentation

This month, LCHS senior Abby Gedville earned recognition from two separate organizations for her news and sports photography. On October 6th, at this year's annual Kettle Moraine Press Association (KEMPA) journalism conference held at UW-Whitewater, Gedville was awarded 'Best in Show' in the News Photography category. Her award-winning photograph was taken during Writers Week earlier this year.

Gedville, Katie Sarver (‘23), and senior Sam Klug also earned recognition in both action and portrait photography.

In addition to her KEMPA awards, Gedville was also honored with the top prize from the School Photographers of America for spring sports photography. The award-winning submission was taken during a Northwestern University's men's baseball game this past May, an opportunity in part made possible by LCHS alum Griffin Quinn ('17). On top of the awards, she won a new Sony mirrorless camera for her first place photo. Principal Jori Bowen and Sports Media teacher Kyle Naughton at last week’s homecoming assembly.
