This weekend, the Lakes Boys Track and Field team will compete at Eastern Illinois University for the IHSA 2A State Championship. The Eagles punched their ticket to Charleston, IL after last week's decisive championship win at Sectionals.
Coach Jacob Buddell expressed great pride in his team's performance. "We had a successful day at Sectionals [last week]. We are extremely proud of these young men who have shown remarkable talent, perseverance, and teamwork," Buddell said.
The team's trophy cabinet has a new addition as they celebrate their fifth Sectional Championship in the past twelve years. Their previous titles were in 2016, 2015, 2013, and 2011.
