Rubik's Cube Club

Cubing Club is a club based around teaching students how to solve the notorious 3 by 3 and many other puzzles. Helping them with their memorization, hand-eye coordination, muscle memory, and critical thinking skills. Other purposes of this club are introducing participants to the Cubing ecosystem through Cubing News, breakthroughs, peer to peer support, mutual interest, and public events.

Color Guard uses flags, rifles, sabres and dance to bring the marching band music to life. The team performs with the marching band at parades, halftime at football games, and competitions.

Color Guard (Winter) (combined with ACHS)

Typically we have practice on Wednesdays 6PM-9PM and either Saturday or Sunday 11AM-6PM. Weekend days/times are subject to change.
Weekend competitions start late January through March.
State/Championships is the first or second weekend of April.

Winter Guard is a competitive, indoor performance based activity. The team spins flags, rifles, and sabres combined with dance to create a theatrical production. The team is made up of students from both Antioch Community High School and Lakes Community High School and competes under the name: District 117 Winter Guard.

FCCLA: Family Career and Community Leaders of America. Come make new friends! We do service projects together, cook, and bake at meetings! Students in the club also have the opportunity to compete at FCCLA regional competitions in different events like cookie/cake decorating, apparel and design, public speaking and lots more!

Students will get real world, real time feedback and business experience from real leaders in over 60 industries. We work towards a January competition against local area FBLA Chapters with the option of continuing to a state competition. Students will work either in groups or induvidually to understand a specific topic of business in order to showcase their deep knowledge, presenting skills, ingenuity and collaboration.

Math Team

Tuesdays after school for an hour

Students interested in honing their math skills and competing against students from other schools both locally and statewide should join the Math Team. Competition is held at all levels, freshman through senior, and includes individual, relay team, two -and eight-person teams, calculator team, and oral presentation. Math Team members interact academically and socially with students of other communities throughout the region and state.

National Honor Society membership is based on the pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The Lakes chapter of NHS sponsors school-wide events and fundraisers and connects students to community service opportunities in the area. Academically eligible students (cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher) are invited to apply to NHS at the beginning of semester 2 of sophomore or junior year. Interested candidates should actively seek leadership positions and conduct meaningful community service to strengthen their application.

Pawz 4 Change

Pawz 4 Change is a nonprofit/club that raises awareness to animal cruelty, adoption, and overcrowded shelters. We work with local shelters to get animals adopted as well as support shelter needs. We host community events and have fundraisers and offer service hours.

Tabletop Gaming Club is a student run club that encourages positive social interactions, problem solving, and creative storytelling. Students run their own D&D groups where the game master creates and builds a story. Students in each group cooperatively play this game through storytelling, improvisation and problem solving.

The ski and snowboard club is a great way to learn to ski/snowboard, practice your skills, or just have some fun in the winter! Each trip we will plan to leave Lakes Community High School around 3:30 pm and arrive at Alpine Valley around 4:30pm. The bus will return to Lakes by leaving Alpine Valley around 8:00pm so that we arrive back at school around 9:00pm. We ask that you have transportation home ready upon arrival back at school.

South Asian Student Association

SASA club is for all students to explore and learn about South Asian cultures (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc.) through South Asian food, fundraisers, movies, festivals/events like Diwali, Eid, and Holi. This club fulfills the need for representation of South Asian culture as well as the percentage of our school and incoming freshmen who are South Asian. The club will also offer volunteering hours for students through fundraisers and various other events.
