Due to the increase of COVID numbers in Lake County and with the suspension of most in person learning in the district, D117 will suspend the last week of contact days for the week of October 26th. This will include the boys basketball, girls basketball, dance, cheer and bowling programs. Any cross country runners who qualify for the IHSA Sectional Meet on October 31st, will finish their season.
We anticipate hearing more from the IHSA regarding the winter sports season (boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling, bowling, dance and cheer) next Wednesday, October 28th. After this, the athletic directors will meet with the D117 Upper Administration and head coaches to discuss how those seasons will be run, if practical. The athletic departments will post on their web sites and send out an email to students and parents (via an IC message) information regarding what was decided at some point the week of November 2nd. Please remember, if we are allowed to being winter athletic programs we anticipate this being a fluid situation, with possible modifications occurring during the seasons.
